Using essential oils in the shower can leave you feeling relaxed and less stressed

The shower can be a fabulous place to take advantage of the stress-relieving benefits of essential oils. Science shows that any time you use essential oils, especially calming ones like lavender, it can help to reduce anxiety. Essential oils can also have a beneficial effect on your central nervous system.

Which makes shower time the perfect time to add this kind of calming support to your daily routine. Whether you shower in the morning or at night, you want to use this as a time for self care.

As great as that sounds, you don’t want to slip and fall while you’re in the shower. After all, let’s face it, essential oils are still … oil.

And if you combine a wet shower floor with wet feet and slippery oil? Well, accidents can happen.

Fortunately there is a way that you can combine a soothing warm shower with the supportive benefits of essential oils and not put yourself into the high-risk-slip category. It starts by not applying the oil directly to the floor (and who wants to have to clean an oily floor anyway?).

Simply apply 2-3 drops of your favorite essential oil blend to a sponge. Place the sponge on the floor where at least a little of the hot water can hit it to help it steam up.

Then sit back, relax, and unwind.

Breathe in your favorite aromas.

You’ll get the benefits of the aromatherapy without the risk of a slippery shower floor.
