Regular proper cleaning of your essential oil diffuser can be vital to your health

Regular use of your diffuser is a great idea, but over time oil residue can build up. Even if you’re using high-quality essential oils. One way to avoid that build-up is simple maintenance. Wiping down your diffuser.

If you do this after every use it means you’re not mixing together different oils, but starting fresh each time. We also recommend a deep clean once a month to keep the gunk out of your oils.

Regular Cleaning:

Rinse the diffuser
Put 2-3 drops of Everyday Cleaner onto a soft cotton cloth
Gently wipe the bottom and sides of the diffuser well
Place 1-2 drops of rubbing alcohol on a Q-tip and clean the ultrasonic chip
(consult your diffuser manual to see where your chip is located, it’s usually in the middle of the bottom of the diffuser well)

Heavy Duty Cleaning:

Fill your diffuser well halfway with clean water
Add 10 drops of vinegar
Run the diffuser for 10-12 minutes
Empty the diffuser
Place 2-3 drops of Everyday Cleaner onto a soft cotton cloth
Gently wipe all diffuser surfaces, including the cover
Place 1-2 drops of rubbing alcohol on a Q-tip and clean the ultrasonic chip

Dilution formulas:

Because essential oils are so potent you don’t want to apply them directly, or neat, to the skin. It’s best to dilute them with a carrier oil such as coconut oil, sweet almond oil, or jojoba oil.

Based on 1 tsp. of carrier oil:

1% – 1 drop (best for children and the elderly)
2% – 2 drops
3 % – 3 drops (for specific issues, as directed)
10 % – 10 drops
